Fusion-IO performance

We got hold of a 80 gig Fusion-IO PCIe card and put it through its paces. All I can say is, WoW! It certainly lived up to the hype. I/O wait was reduced to nothing whereas before we could get 70% I/O wait when testing. At the moment you can’t boot off it which is a bit of a bummer and there are no VMware drivers as far as I know. Our testing software has since been upgraded so we can throw a lot more at it now, unfortunately the test card had to go back. We will be testing normal SSDs and will get hold of some other PCIe cards to see how they handle things.
