Riverbed Recovery

Riverbed in a joint project with EMC E-Lab has acheived qualification for its Steelhead range of appliances to interopt with the Symmetrix© Remote Data Facility/Asynchronous product (SRDF/A - EMC's business continuity solution).

This qualification recognises the ability of Riverbed's product suite to provide real and stable benefit in the acceleration of SAN to SAN replication across a WAN infrastructure. In using enhanced traffic management techniques to avoid the transmission of unnecessary data, Riverbed have shown a 5x to 8x improvement in speed and bandwidth consumption during disaster recovery backups.
